POSTERS:
Some papers might be assigned to a Poster Presentation depending on recommendations made by the reviewers.  During the Visual Presentation sessions, participants will circulate to hear your presentation and discuss your research.  You should aim to present for approximately 5 minutes and then be prepared to answer questions.

ORGANIZED PANELS:
We invite the submission of Organized Panels, with a due date of May 30, 2017.  These proposals should be submitted by email to info@iaae2017talca.org.  The Scientific Committee will be responsible for the evaluation and final decision regarding the proposals.

The purpose of the organized panels, which will be held as plenary or part of the parallel sessions, is to bring together 3-4 panelists that are working on a common topic, which may be related to the theme of the Symposium.  The topic can focus on policy issues, research methods, emerging research results, and teaching or outreach. The sessions may have different formats but the typical arrangement is short presentations on a common theme.  Regardless of the format proposed, all panels need to allocate an important share of the available time for interactions among the panelists and between the panelists and the audience (at least 30 minutes from a total of 90).

The Proposals need to include: session title; session rationale; names and contact information for the organizer and other participants; and a description of the format including plans for discussion. The proposal should be no longer than two pages.

II.- Presentation guidelines

ORAL PRESENTATIONS

The time allocated for a presentation is 15 minutes, with a further 5 minutes allowed for discussion. Think in terms of the following slides:

•    A title slide – Title, Name, and what the paper is about
•    One slide with the hypothesis you want to investigate
•    2 or 3 slides covering your current research plan
•    You should not require any more than 10 slides.  It is generally distracting to the audience to have too many slides in a short presentation
•    Do not put too much text on a slide – you want the audience to listen to you and not to be absorbed by the slides!

A projector and computer (Windows, MS PowerPoint & Adobe Acrobat Reader) will be available in every room for presentations.

Presentation Requirements:
Speakers must arrive in their session room at least 15 minutes BEFORE the start of their session to report to the chairperson. An assistant from the local organization will also be available for technical assistance. PLEASE NOTE THAT SPEAKERS MUST BRING A WINDOWS COMPATIBLE MEMORY STICK CONTAINING THEIR PRESENTATION FILE.

POSTER PRESENTATIONS
During the Visual Presentation sessions, participants will circulate to hear your presentation and discuss your research.  You should aim to present for approximately 5 minutes and then be prepared to answer questions.

All posters will be available for viewing by participants for 2 days during the Symposium. Presentation will be at lunchtime the second and third day of the Symposium.

Presentation Requirements:
The size of the panel space that is available to each poster is 80 cm width by 90 cm long.

Size and format cannot be modified. Authors are free to choose a single poster or several smaller posters that fit on the given panel size. Posters will be attached to the panel with adhesive tape available on site.

III.- Application for financial support

SUPPORT FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS FROM LATIN AMERICAN COUNTRIES
The IAAE offers partial support for a limited number of Young Researchers from Latin American and Caribbean countries.  For this purpose, a Young Researcher is defined as an active Ph.D. student, post doc, or a Faculty member that obtained his/her Ph.D. degree after January 1, 2014.  Young Researcher status needs to be documented by a letter from the applicant’s Department Head or Program Director sent to info@iaae2017talca.org.  The letter should include the submission number assigned by ConfTool and should be accompanied by the Financial Support Form found in the Symposium website

The Scientific Committee will make the selection of the recipients for financial support from those individuals qualifying as Young Researchers.  This selection will be based on the scores received on the qualifying papers, which must be written in English. The top 12 scores will receive free registration plus US $375 payable upon arrival to Talca.  The next 20 will receive free registration.
